Howard Group is pleased to bring a premium
grade distiller's dried grains with solubles
(DDGS) to our customers. Our DDGS are made as a
co-product of drymill ethanol production from
grains in which we preserve much of the original
nutritional value of the grain, including energy,
protein, and phosphorous. Research endorsed by
the US Grains Council has recognized the
importance of DDGS as valuable component in a
variety of animal feed ingredients. DDGS are a
very good protein source and are high in bypass
protein which has a high feeding value for growth
performance in beef cattle. DDGS has been shown
to supply a significant amount of energy, amino
acids and phosphorous to poultry diets. In
aquaculture diets, DDGS substitutions for feed
ingredients have been shown to lower the levels
of phosphorous
discharge into farm water while maintaining
a relatively high level of protein supply t the
farmed fish. Howard Group believes that by
introducing a premium grade DDGS to our
customers, we will experience an invaluable
resource in the animal feed industry.
In the production of DDGS, the product must be
dried with high temperature heating and often
there is a potential for burning in which some of
the carbohydrate and protein is bonded and
unavailable as nutrition. Our premium grade DDGS
have a light golden brown color with a sweet
fermented smell of proper drying.
